The following modifications have been made to make access to the site easier for people with a disability including:
In the swimming pool:
- Shallow angled steps into the swimming pool
- An Oxford Advanced sling dipper to assist customers to enter the swimming pool at the shallow end of the main pool (maximum weight of 24 stones/ 155kg)
- Ranger chair (maximum weight of 22 stones/ 140kg) to assist customers to enter the swimming pool area from the disabled changing room
- Otter Hoist (maximum weight of 350lb/ 160kg). A chair based hoist to assist customer to enter the swimming pool (at the shallow end of the main pool)
- Oxford hoist (chair based) to assist access into the small or main pool by chair elevation (maximum weight 22 stones/ 140kg)
- Handrails are provided in walkways from either the main changing rooms or disabled changing rooms to poolside and shower areas
In the changing area:
- Level flooring from reception to poolside
- Direct access to poolside from the disabled/ access changing room
- Non-slip floor
- Wall mounted fold down shower / changing bed
- Adjustable and detachable shower head for use with the shower bed, fold down stool or ranger chair
- Oxford advance dipper mobile hoist (customers will need to bring their own sling- maximum sling size of XL paediatric)
- Turning space for wheelchair users
- Support rails, paddle taps and alarms
- Flashing fire alarms, for those customers with impaired hearing
- A changing room large enough to accommodate both the user and a carer.
In the theatre:
- Lift up to the 1st floor
- Evacuation chair is available in case of emergencies
- Designated spaces in the theatre audience for patrons in wheel chairs
There are designated parking spaces close to the centre for disabled customers. Blue Badge Holders receive free parking on display of a valid permit.
