Carers
A carer could be a relative, friend or neighbour. They don’t have to live with the person or be the only one to provide care. They may provide support with practical tasks such as washing, dressing, taking medicines and shopping. It may also involve emotional support, helping to manage difficult behaviour and ‘keeping an eye’ on someone to ensure they’re safe.
Nottinghamshire County Council provides support to all ages, including young adult carers (aged between 18 and 24) and young carers (children and young people under the age of 25).
You may want to find out more about carers assessments, carers breaks and personal budgets for other ways to access support.
The Carers Federation offers a range of services, including timely, personalised information and support for Carers via the Carers Hub Service (carersfederation.co.uk) to make caring for someone who needs your support easier.
