SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) Association
SADA (Seasonal Affective Disorder Association) is a voluntary organisation and registered charity. We aim to be a source of information about SAD and sub-syndromal SAD (often known as winter blues) for the public, health professionals and the media. Our website offers a lot of information about SAD and SADA. Members have access to their own area of the website where they can download our information booklet, newsletters, scientific and general articles. There is a postal service for those who need it. Members are also offered telephone and email support. We have direct email addresses for the general public and the media. SAD is a debilitating illness caused by lack of bright light mainly during Autumn and Winter. The major symptoms of SAD are depression, sleep problems, anxiety, poor cognitive function and social problems. There is often a much improved change of mood in the Spring. Annual membership costs £20 and £10 for concessions - the unwaged, students, people over sixty and under twelves. You can follow SADA on Twitter - www.twitter.com/sad_association
