Established over 125 years ago, NDS is proud to have played a part in making Nottinghamshire a more open society for the City and County’s Deaf Community.
Owns and runs a community centre for deaf people of all ages and for their families. The centre offers a 'deaf friendly' space where deaf people can meet, socialise, participate in a range of valuable activities, and access specialist services and advice.
Offers a range of services including welfare rights, debt advice and sign language interpreting to the local deaf community. Organises a 55+ group, luncheon club, social club and other activities. Runs BSL classes and lip reading classes. Campaigns for equal access, opportunities and information for deaf people.
