The M Word(Emotional Problem Solving) cic

The M Word provides Mental Health assessments, Initial Screening (Mental Health and Autism, as well as ADHD and PDA), and therapy by qualified Mental Health clinicians. Lavinia, the Director and Founder, has nearly thirty years experience as a Mental health Nurse, of which nearly 10 of those have been working with CAMHS and Autism. We provide a one stop shop where we can help understand the difficulties and risk around poor mental health, as well as see the difficulties or complexities around Autism. For many children that may be exacerbated by attending school which is becoming a daily struggle, or no longer feeling well enough to attend school.

This service is for both young people and adults, although we predominantly see young people due to so many families not able to access the care in a timely fashion from statutory agencies. Some parents feel they need support around Educational Health Care Plans, and others want the right support (rather than being sent on yet another parenting course) about how to tweak their parenting skills to support their Autistic child/teenager.

We are based on the Isle of Anglesey and so the majority of our work is on line. We find that young people are generally far more relaxed in their home environment.  Our aim is not 'not cure Autism or ADHD' but rather help the individual learn about themselves and what works for them so that their self-esteem recovers and they feel more able to deal with their daily living, as well as look after their mental health.

We are proud to work in partnership with our families as well as Local Authorities and other agencies
