Macademia is a small, community-led education studio based in Sherwood, Nottingham, working with children and young people aged 8+.
We provide calm, small-group learning that focuses on real-world skills, confidence building and exposure to genuine career pathways — particularly for home-educated children, alternative learners and young people who don't thrive in traditional classrooms.
Our programmes include daytime learning for home-educated students (core subjects and life skills), as well as after-school and weekend studios exploring areas such as entrepreneurship, interior design, fashion design, uniformed services, architectural model making and portfolio building.
Sessions are practical, discussion-led and hands-on, delivered by professional tutors in a supportive, pressure-free environment. The aim is to help young people understand themselves, explore their interests, and make informed decisions about their future.
Macademia operates from a dedicated studio space in Sherwood and works closely with local families to provide accessible, meaningful education rooted in confidence, curiosity and community.

Age Range: 8-19

Most sessions are priced at £10 per hour.
Some programmes run in short course blocks or longer studio sessions, and total costs may vary slightly depending on length.
