We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Personal Assistant to support an individual living with learning disabilities and dementia in Kirkby-In-Ashfield, NG17. The role is designed to promote independence, social inclusion, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Provide support during lunch to late afternoon visits, for a total of 11 hours per week.

Assist with:

• Meal preparation and cooking (currently receives meals on wheels once daily).
• Shopping and maintaining the home.
• Medication support (ensuring medications are taken at the correct times).
• Social inclusion and companionship to combat loneliness.

Essential Information

Health considerations: the person has epilepsy and experiences regular seizures. He is under investigation by the Epilepsy team.

Mobility: the person is generally independent but can be unsteady on his feet.

Communication: in-person, verbal communication works best.

Risks: awareness of seizure management and medication timing is crucial.

Ideal Candidate

Patient, empathetic, and reliable.

Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, dementia, or epilepsy is desirable.

Able to promote independence while providing practical support.
