OFSTED registered Preschool/playgroup, catering for children aged 2-5 years.
Wilford Village Playgroup is an established Pre-School that welcomed its first child back in 1976. Our team brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to provide children a warm, caring and nourishing environment as they transition to school age.
Based in the Old School building in Wilford Village in the grounds of South Wilford Endowed Church of England Primary School, Wilford Village Playgroup was rated ‘Good' in all areas by Ofsted (Nov 2019).
Room 1 Caterpillars
For children aged 2 & 3 years.
Sessions are - Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9:00-12:00, Tuesday and Thursday 9:00-3:15, with the option of morning 9:00-12:00 or afternoon 12:15-3:15.
We also offer an additional 15 mins at the beginning of the day 8:45-9:00 and end of day 3:15-3:30.
All our activities are carefully planned to meet or exceed the learning objectives for each child in line with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework. Each child is assigned a Key Worker who use detailed records and observation to guide each child through their learning journey. As the youngest room we have the advantage of nappy changing facilities in a dedicated alcove and age-appropriate toilet facilities. Our child friendly outdoor space, with soft play surface, separate grassed area and play equipment, provides an engaging learning environment and benefits from step-free access.
Room 2 Butterflies
For children aged 3 & 4 years.
Children move into Room 2 Butterflies in the September, before they transition to school.
Sessions are Monday - Friday 9:00-3:15, we also offer mornings 9:00-12:00, and afternoons 12:15-3:15.
We also offer an additional 15 mins at the beginning of the day 8:45-9:00 and end of day 3:15-3:30.
Just like Room 1, all our activities are carefully planned to meet or exceed the learning objectives for each child in line with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework. As the oldest room we concentrate on preparing the children for entry in to mainstream school life. The room has it's own age-appropriate toileting facilities with disabled access) and step free access to our child friendly outdoor space. With close proximity to South Wilford Primary School, we are included in their school community, meaning we benefit from organised contact throughout the year, including visits from Reception teachers, invitations to school plays at Christmas and Summer.

The Local Authority and Nottingham City Day Nurseries and Playgroups have worked together to develop Nottingham City Schools Provision Maps. These maps provide a framework for Early Years provision in Nottingham and show interventions that it is reasonable for settings to provide to pupils identified with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Our setting makes provision for pupils with SEND in line with this framework. The detail of the provision will vary depending on the needs of the children that attend.
