Walking With The Wounded

Overview

Walking With The Wounded ‘WWTW' deliver employment, mental health, care coordination and volunteering programmes in collaboration with the NHS to get those who served, and their families, whether mentally, socially or physically wounded, back on their feet and making a positive contribution once more. Why? Because those who served, deserve.
What We Do
WWTW supports disadvantaged veterans who have served in the Armed Forces and their families, empowering them to regain their independence, thrive and contribute in our communities. We have adapted and we continue to support our ex-service community during this difficult time. WWTW has worked in partnership with the NHS for many years and during this period we will continue those partnerships to respond wherever possible to support our incredible NHS.
WWTW supports three key areas for the most vulnerable veterans, enabling our service users to live an independent & successful life:
1. Employment
2. Wellbeing and mental health
3. Care Coordination
Our support activities include:
- 121 mental health therapy (CBT/EMDR) through a network of accredited therapists - allocating a therapist within an average of 7 days and 4 miles.
- 121 Employment Support using IPS methodology.
- Provision of accommodation and support with the development and navigation of veteran friendly accommodation pathways
- Navigation of specialist services, such as alcohol addiction services
- Specialist support for those referred via police custody to lead a crime free life
- Family support for those who are suffering as a result of their partners' needs
