Overview
The Travel Well programme is focussed on making it easier for residents to access walking and cycling opportunities.
Active Travel England, part of the government, have chosen Nottingham to test whether ‘social prescribing' of walking, wheeling and cycling can make a big difference particularly focussing on residents from Aspley, Beechdale, Bilborough, Bulwell, St Ann's and Sneinton.
There are free activities such as wellbeing walks, led walks, learn to cycle, and group cycle rides being offered as part of a plan to improve mental and physical health and reduce health inequalities.
Travel Well is led by Nottingham City Council in partnership with the Nottingham Place-based Partnership, Nottingham Community Voluntary Service, PCN Aspire and PCN Nottingham City East.
