The Shires, Stretton - Option Autism Services Ltd

Overview

Stretton Shires School is an independent specialist school that caters for Autistic children and young people aged 11-19. Our curriculum centres on Autism and related needs, and this supported by our fully integrated clinical team.

At Stretton Shires School, we recognise that all pupils benefit from developing strong communication and interaction skills, as well as learning how to understand and manage their physical and sensory needs. These foundations support positive social, emotional, and mental health, and enable pupils to fully engage with learning across the curriculum and supports them to access the world around them. We call this "Wellbeing & Learning for Independence".

Curriculum

At Stretton Shires School, our pupils follow an integrated therapeutic curriculum designed to help them develop the knowledge, understanding and skills they need for adulthood.

During KS4 and KS5 pupils can work towards a variety of accreditation appropriate to their developmental stage. Pupils can work towards accreditation in English and Maths. Further accreditation opportunities across a range of subject areas are built around the interests and career aspirations of our pupils with the aim of preparing them for adulthood.
