The British Beekeepers' Association (BBKA), registered charity 1185343, was founded in 1874 and today it represents, at national level, the interests of 29,000 amateur beekeeper members and the 3 billion honey bees they care for when pollination activity is at its peak.

Our charitable objectives are ‘to advance the education of the public and beekeepers in the craft of beekeeping and promote the importance of bees in the environment.'

We are governed by elected Trustees in accordance with our Constitution. Funding is through the membership, sponsorship from companies, charitable trusts and by donations. Further income from the public through fund-raising schemes and the sale of merchandise through the web-shop.
