The Adventure Service - Outdoor Activities For Adults With Additional Support Needs

All of our Day Services are available from Monday to Friday

The Adventure Service Ltd provides specialist outdoor activities for adults with additional support needs.
By using the outdoor world, we enable Adventurers to develop their skills, helping them to become more independent and confident.
Whilst at The Adventure Service users will work towards individual targets through expert support and instruction.
The skills developed during their time at The Adventure Service Ltd can be used in other areas of life, for example, preparing and cooking a meal on a fire will provide relevant skills for independent living.
Adventurers can also participate in group volunteering to gain an understanding of working life.
All our Adventurers benefit from person-centred planning to create personalised learning plans and set achievable goals.
Users will need to provide their own transport to and from the centre of their choice (Mansfield Woodhouse, Top Valley or Chesterfield).
All specialist equipment will be provided for Adventurer. However, they will need to bring walking boots, waterproof jacket & trousers and a day sack
We also provide Adult Short Breaks, hosted in the beautiful surroundings of the Peak District National Park and alternate between four specialist adventure sites:
St. MichaelsThornbridgeThe Foundry Activity Centreand Champion House.
Accommodation is dormitory style and Adventurers are supported with tasks such as food preparation and cleaning up.
Each Short Break runs from Friday evening until Sunday evening. Transport to each venue is provided from our day services, located in Mansfield Woodhouse, Chesterfield and Top Valley
Adventurers who attend our Day Service help plan the menu, resources and the activities in the weeks leading up to the visit.
