Teversal Visitor's Centre and Cafe

Overview

Visitor centre and cafe 9am - 1.45pm Daily

There is ample free parking outside the centre with an extensive surrounding grass area making it an ideal place for picnics. A Coal Garden, incorporating a variety of artifacts from the local colliery, including Pit Wheels, marks the entrance to the trails themselves. Parts of the trails are suitable for wheelchair access, cycling and horse riding and there is much improved wheelchair access at the centre and toilets.

The trails follow the track beds of the former colliery railways which, together with the local footpaths, provide a network of varied and enchanting walks through countryside that is abundant with wildlife. Much of the network has now been designated a Local Nature Reserve due to its valuable and fascinating flora, fauna and geology.

Great low priced cafe run by volunteers we host many activities and events which you can find on our Facebook page'
