Sketchley School Specialist Support

Overview

Sketchley School provides specialist support for both boys and girls aged 8 to 19 years who are on the autistic spectrum, who may also have challenging behaviour as a result of their communication difficulties and a lack of social understanding.

Located in the quiet villages of Sketchley and Narborough in Leicestershire, Sketchley School and Forest House has excellent links with the M69/M6/M1 motorways and Hinckley train station, which is only one mile away. We offer a safe and structured environment within mature private grounds for young people to develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible and make real life choices as they reach adulthood.

Curriculum

On completion of Year 9, students transition onto Forest House, where we follow the Secondary Education model. Pupils are taught core subjects of English, maths and science, as well as a range of specialist subject areas, taught by specialist teachers.

Depending on the young person’s interests, we can tailor education pathways to each individual. For example, academic learners may choose to move on to study further GCSE’s in a range of subject areas. And young people wishing to follow a more vocational pathway, post-16, may wish to attend one of the local colleges where they can choose from a range of A Levels.
