Overview
Serendipity’s Day Nursery offers specific learning approaches tailored to individual child development and taking account of Ofsted regulations as well as the Early Years Foundation Stage.
We are a 38-place Day Nursery operating from a two-storey converted house in Balderton. Babies (children aged under 2 years) and Pre-School children (aged 3-5 years) are cared for on the ground floor and Toddlers (aged 2-3 years) are cared for on the first floor which is accessible by a staircase.
A calm, homely interior brings that home from home feel, helping children take that step from home to nursery. The luxury of being a small nursery is that the staff really know the children and families making it more personal.
A converted Edwardian house, this day nursery offers an atmosphere that inspires the imagination, while a private car park is convenient for busy parents.

Special needs (children)
SENCO trained member of staff. Work alongside outside agencies and other professionals involved
We share information about children's progress with parents/carers through daily verbal exchanges and termly parent evenings. The key person is the main point of contact and we also have a trained Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator who is available for advice and support regarding any concerns parents/carers or staff may have regarding children's development.
If a child is identified to have an additional need, we work closely with the Local Authority support teams to ensure that an appropriate level of care and support is provided. We liaise with any other professionals working with the child to ensure that appropriate targets are set, and regularly reviewed, in order to best support the child's learning and development. We work closely with the local Children's Centre who can offer support and training sessions relating to general parenting strategies along with more specialist support such as speech and language therapy.
All staff at nursery have, as a minimum, a basic awareness of signs and symbols and this form of communication is incorporated into daily routines as much as possible.
