Safe Space Nottingham

Overview

Nottingham City Council is proud to support Safe Space Nottingham, a new partnership website designed to make it easier for residents and visitors to identify accredited Safe Spaces across the city centre. The site has been developed by It's in Nottingham and the Consent Coalition, alongside Nottinghamshire Police and the Nottinghamshire Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner, to strengthen Nottingham's collective effort to tackle violence against women and girls and improve public safety.
The new website brings all accredited Safe Spaces together in one accessible platform, helping people navigate the city centre with confidence and find support quickly if they need it. Key features include:

An interactive map of accredited Safe Spaces
Awareness and guidance for the public
Specialist VAWG resources and training
Improved visibility and consistency across city centre venues

More than 65 venues have already signed up to the Safe Space Pledge, taking simple but meaningful steps to offer safe, welcoming spaces where trained staff can provide reassurance and help direct people to support.
