Overview
Retford Oaks Academy is an 11-19 Academy. The Academy today is both popular and successful, with high expectations and aspirations of all. Examination results are good and continue to climb; Our Post-16 provision is growing rapidly. Although there are eleven official feeder schools in our "family", we currently accommodate pupils from over 35 primary schools.

Our Academy- Reford Oaks Academy is a fully inclusive mainstream academy which values all students equally, regardless of their physical or academic abilities. We offer a range of provisions to support all children ensuring their access to a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum.
Types of SEND The Four Areas of Need At Retford Oaks Academy we provide support for any young person with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), in line with the requirements of the SEND Code of Practice.
This falls within the four primary areas of SEND:
- Cognition and Learning (C&L)
- Communication and Interaction (C&I)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
- Sensory and/or Physical (S&P) needs within the context of a mainstream environment.
We make reasonable adjustments and best endeavours to support learners with SEND. SEND needs can overlap with students being classified as more than one area.
In line with the SEND Code of Practice guidance on ‘reasonable adjustments,’ a graduated approach is taken depending on the needs of the individual child/pupil. This begins with identification, assessment, adaptation, intervention and personalisation of the curriculum where necessary, with the goal of enabling every child/pupil to learn effectively.
