Introduction
Welcome to our online briefing on the Strategic Commissioning Review for Older Adults (65+) residential and nursing care services. This review aims to ensure that the Council's care services are effective, affordable and accessible. This page contains details about the review's purpose, objectives and alignment with our strategic goals. Your participation and feedback are vital to the success of this project.
Main Purpose
The goal of this review is to analyse residential, nursing and respite care for older adults (aged 65+) to provide information and insight to support creation of future strategies and models, to ensure a diverse and sustainable market that meets the needs of all service users. We will assess the current state of service provision including affordability, quality and accessibility. This review aims to promote high-quality, outcomes-oriented care, supporting the economic sustainability of our residential and nursing care providers, and providing best value for Nottingham citizens.
What we will be doing
Evaluating Services: Assess the quality, outcomes, accessibility and sustainability of our residential care services.
Identifying Need: Understand current and future demands, particularly for specialty care, to ensure sufficiency and develop innovative delivery models.
Spotting Gaps: Identify gaps and barriers in service provision and develop solutions to improve accessibility and choice.
Delivering Value for Money: Achieve Best Value in commissioned services.
Developing Future Models: Explore and develop innovative options for future models of commissioning residential and nursing care services.
Promoting Inclusion: Ensure equality, diversity and inclusion is accounted for in all service delivery aspects, including through engagement with residents and seldom-heard communities.

We have now concluded our initial engagement with our citizens in your homes, we appreciate your support in enabling them to give their views. We will be in contact towards the end of July to arrange face to face engagement with residents and will provide feedback to you and them in September.
