Never too late to Educate...

Prime8 Education was formed in September 2018 as an Alternative Provider offering education to the most vulnerable young people in our community. Places are secured through referrals from Local Councils and Schools. Prime 8 Education is based on a small group model, (a maximum of 3:1) available to Primary, Secondary and Post 16 young people, offering a bespoke package.

The growing numbers of EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoiders) and Mental Health issues on the rise has also led us to offer outreach provision to vulnerable young people requiring Teaching at home or in the community. Led by our Community Manager, Staff have vast experience of working with such individuals and prioritise building the relationship on a 1:1 before encouraging small steps in accessing the wider community and with the option of accessing group bases, should this be a realistic outcome for the learner. Prime8 also offers outdoor education through its Forest School/Horticulture provision which is set in a woodland space.

Staffed by experienced and qualified teachers and teaching assistants, we are able to offer the continuity, familiarity and stability that many of our learners require. Whilst catering for their social, emotional and confidence building education in practical skills in a calm, nurturing, flexible and friendly rural environment, our team deliver an individualised curriculum to suit each learner. There can be little doubt that the learning setting is crucial in creating a nurturing environment with a therapeutic approach for young people with anxiety issues, often linked to ASC, ADHD or other Individual Needs. We aim to cater for this need whilst simultaneously providing academic education in preparation for a variety of important qualifications.

We have forged links with a local School which enables us to deliver qualifications such as GCSEs, A levels and Functional Skills. We also offer AQA Unit Awards in a range of areas including art, cooking, outdoor skills, design technology and personal & social development. This ensures that we can offer our learners both an academic and vocational package to accommodate their needs.

Our teaching is based around Growth Mindset and Mindfulness approaches, building self esteem and enabling our learners to achieve their potential.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift.
