Play Therapy

Overview

I am a PTUK registered play therapist based in Arnold, Nottingham with over 15 years' experience working with children and young people.

WHAT IS PLAY THERAPY?

Play Therapy is great for reducing stress and anxiety, and helping build resilience and confidence. Play Therapy can help children make sense of muddled feelings and upsetting events. Rather than having to verbalise what is troubling them, children can use play to communicate at their own pace.

AREAS OF SUPPORT:

  • anxiety
  • bereavement/loss
  • bullying
  • ADHD
  • autism
  • trauma
  • family separation
  • attachment issues
  • self image

WHAT I OFFER

  • Individual play therapy session (Thursdays & Fridays)
  • Short and long term support
  • Creative resources: art, sand. puppets, sensory toys, music, small world play etc.
  • Therapeutic story telling and guided visualisations, tailored to each young person.

IMPROVED COMMUNICATION

Children can play what the struggle to say, children can play to explain their way. Through play children can discover and rehearse different ways of understanding and coping with difficult feelings, leading to a healthier and happier way of being - PTUK.
