Overview
We have a member of staff appointed as 'Language Lead,' who is studying towards the 'Early Language Lead Accreditation' qualification. The Language Lead fosters and promotes the importance of speech, language and communication skills, identifies development needs, and ensures children with speech, language and communication needs are identified and supported appropriately.
We build strong partnerships with parents and families, through sharing information regarding their children and how we are meeting their individual needs. Staff members also attend local network meetings to build links within the community and with other support agencies.
We continually monitor all our children's development through close observations, and ensure activities, both child-led and adult-guided, and resources are available to challenge children and support them in achieving their next steps. Children's next steps are informed by the observations we have made of their current development. We map our provision to ensure we are meeting the needs of all children, and adapt this accordingly to support children with SEND.
As children move on to school, we share information through a written transition report (entitled 'All About Me') and network meetings with teachers.
