Oak Tree 'Getting School Ready'

Overview

What is 'Getting School Ready?'

The Getting School Ready initiative brings together cross-sector partners, parents and carers from an under-served community in Mansfield, to co-produce a plan to address the persistent issue of high numbers of pupils requiring significant extra support to thrive.

Key priorities for the Getting School Ready initiative

Five key priorities for action were identified and formed the pillars of a long-term plan:

  1. Building better connections between services

  2. Facilitating access to support

  3. Fostering better relationships between service and families

  4. Building system leadership capability

  5. Fostering social cohesion and community resilience

Methods to achieve our priorities

Collective Impact

Collective Impact provides a framework for cross-sector partnership working. Partners agree a plan to address the root causes of persistent problems and collaborate around a common agenda, a shared measurement system, a commitment to delivering mutually reinforcing activities and ‘backbone’ support.

Systems Thinking

Systems Thinking draws on a broad range of perspectives to better understand complex social challenges. The process allows new insights to emerge and enables the root causes of persistent problems to be identified and addressed.
