Nottingham Folk Dance Group

Overview

Tuesday

We are a friendly group who meet every Tuesday evening to enjoy English Country Dance and similar dance styles. If you have been to a Barn Dance or Ceilidh you will ahve a good idea of what is involved. We love dancing the type of dances seen in Georgian period dramas and similar dances written by more recent choreographers. We also include american contra and square dances in our programme and also a few Scottish Country dances. There is always something for everyone.

Singles and couples are welcome. No previous experience is necessay. All dances are walked through in advance by an experienced caller to teach the figures. We usually dance to recorded music and we occasionally have local bands to play for us.

We meet from 7:15pm to 10pm at Lambley Village Hall. We have a short break at about 8:30 for tes/coffee and biscuits. Check the website for fees.
