Nicola Clarke - Little Adventurers Childcare

Overview

I am an Ofsted registered childminder as well as a qualified primary school teacher. I offer a caring and supportive home from home environment where children are challenged with fun and engaging activities to help them learn and develop.

I offer a home from home setting for children with a love of nature and learning through play. Children up to 5 years old as well as wrap around care offered.

I offer funded places as well as private. Speak to me to discuss availability.

I follow the EYFS curriculum and activities follow children’s interests. I have a fantastic open plan area with a large garden for playing and exploring! In the garden there is a playhouse, mud kitchen, water table, messy play trays, tyres, slides and a swing, a sandpit, a construction area, grassed area for playing or football etc. I have lots of toys to keep the children engaged outside for hours!

I provide an array of activities including arts and crafts, puzzles and games, dressing up, cooking, sand & water / messy play, playdoh, dress up, dolls houses, play kitchen, books, blocks and bricks, cars, trains, doll, role play and so much more! I have lots of natural resources for children to explore, giving them the chance to learn through investigating these and using their imaginations to decide for themselves how to play with them. I make up treasure baskets for babies from 6 months old for sensory exploration. I also have a loose parts area that is regularly set up to allow children to make whatever they want from recyclable items such as boxes, yoghurt pots, materials, tubes etc so you can look forward to some interesting creations coming home! I like to incorporate singing, dancing, stories and learning about events and the weather into our daily routine.

I take the children out on a daily basis to make sure they are outside gaining knowledge, exploring and getting lots of exercise. We visit local playgroups, shops, parks, country parks, Sherwood Pines, Rufford Abbey, woodland, duck ponds, libraries and museums to name a few!
