NewLife Foundation for Disabled Children

Overview

Every day in the UK children become disabled, are diagnosed with life limiting conditions or become terminally ill.

More babies and children are surviving conditions, accidents, infections and cancers. With more children living through these experiences the remit of the Newlife Foundation also includes all children with significant disabilities.

Newlife exists to respond to all these children with care, professionalism and determination and to provide informed support to their families and carers

Local Offer

The Newlife Foundation operates a free nurse helpline Monday - Friday 9:30am - 5:00pm and Wednesday 9:30am - 7:00pm providing support and information to parents, whether they have just been told of their child's disability, or need help accessing local services.

Grants for equipment are also available for children with a significant disability who live permanently in the UK. The equipment must be essential and disability relevant.

The Foundation also has other equipment and sensory box loans available. Essential equipment loans can be delivered within 72 hours, this would normally be for families with a child with a terminal illness.

No means testing is undertaken, but they do take into account the whole circumstances of the family.
