Also offers a range of free information resources and guidelines for people affected by cancer including money worries, benefits and debt. Provides face-to-face courses and workshops (currently not in Nottingham) and online courses videos and resources. Offers training within the UK (no courses currently in Nottingham). In partnership with Boots UK, operates MacMillan in Every Community (MIEC), which gives volunteer groups the training and resources to deliver support to people affected by cancer in their local communities. The Nottingham MIEC is run by volunteers who work at the Boots Head Office at Thane Road site in Beeston. The service has been running since April 2011 and has been supporting people affected by cancer with practical help and emotional support; which can be anything from ironing, cleaning windows, changing the bed linen to having a chat and a cup of tea. This means a once a week visit for 6 weeks and for up to a maximum of 12 weeks. Referrals are made through GPs/practice managers.
