Little Honey Pots Day Nursery

Overview

Here at Little Honey Pots Day Nursery we are a full day nursery provider based in Hickling Pastures Melton.

We are a brand new nursery opened in March 2025. Our ethos is to provide children with a happy healthy sustainable lifestyle.

Our aims are to provide health and nutrition and the benefits of outdoor learning along with our curriculum based farm school. We are planting our own vegetables and herbs where children experience the life cycles of plants and learn the care of animals. It is also about taking responsibility for growing and looking after these.

Children will be learning life skills, making healthy choices and developing life lessons.

Emotional well-being is very important to us, providing opportunities for self care, taking care of the environment will be part of our daily learning.

Children's experiences are consistently planned for to build embedded knowledge and skills to enhance future learning. Children demonstrate this through being engaged in their learning and play, sustaining high levels of engagement and concentration. Children lead their learning through natural awe and wonder.

We offer all year round and term time only places, full day care available from 6 months to 5 years of age. We can also offer an hourly service.

We offer full day care or hourly care (minimum of 5 hours) for children aged 6 months to 5 years old all year round (51 weeks of the year) or term time only (38 weeks of the year). We accept government funding and the tax free child care as well as privately funded sessions. We believe children lead their own learning through awe and wonder, and as skilled practitioners we facilitate the learning environment for children to learn and grow using in the moment planning. We provide opportunities for children to open magical doors to awe and wonder and play based activities. We opened in March 2025 and are based on a farm, where children are able to explore nature, grow fruit and vegetables, learn about nutrition, life cycles and understanding the world around them.

During their time as a SENCO in the early years, they have worked alongside multiple professionals and completed two EHCP applications for children who in turn were successful in receiving an EHCP.
