Katy Burgess

Overview

I am a qualified NNEB and Ofsted registered child minder working in West Bridgford.

I received OUTSTANDING in my last Ofsted inspections (2009 & 2016) and Good in 2022

I am a member of PACEY, have a DBS disclosure and am First Aid trained.

I have four daughters

We have a smal friendly dog, a cavapoo called Nell

My aim is to provide a safe, caring environment where children learn through play (an important aspect which is often overlooked) in a secure fun environment.

Being a childminder means that I am different to a Nursery setting -I care for a maximum of three children during the day and can therefore provide lots of individual attention to your child.

I live in a large victorian house very close to the centre of West Bridgford, we have plenty of space, including a playroom, large secure garden and a den for the older children.

We are near to many local amenities, we visit soft play areas, , the library, various parks and the city farm regularly and are out and about every day, we follow the forest school ethos and love spending time in the woods. I work closely with three other registered child minders who live nearby so your child will meet lots of other children on a daily basis.

I am passionate about emergent writing and have excellent knowledge of the EYFS which we follow in a similar way to nurseries using trackers and photograph development books.

I realise the importance of good quality childcare and can provide a first class service to you and your child.

I completed a degree at Nottingham Trent- BA (Hons) Education (Early Years) which has been valuable to my professional development.

Government 2 year & 3 year funded places accepted.

I have excellent references.
