Overview
Jessica George was lively, bright and musical, and just nine years old when she was diagnosed with a rare and inoperable brain tumour in December 1993.
Jessie’s Fund was established to meet the cost of Jessie's treatment and was named by Jessie herself. Unfortunately, Jessie died in May 1994 – less than six months after her diagnosis.
Jessie’s parents, musicians Lesley Schatzberger and Alan George, decided that Jessie’s Fund should become a charity dedicated to helping seriously ill and disabled children through the creative and therapeutic use of music: it was registered as such in 1995. Based in York, Jessie’s Fund helps children all over the UK.

Local Offer
Jessie’s Fund is a UK charity helping children with additional and complex needs through the use of music. They work with children in hospices, special schools and in other settings nationwide, giving them access to music-making and to music therapy.
There may be Grants available for work with individual children or organisations. Assistance is provided for children and young people up to age 19 (25 in special circumstances). Jessie's fund also provides music instruments for hospices and special schools.
