Home Visiting Volunteering With Home-Start Nottingham

Overview

Mon - Fr,i 9am - 4pm unless otherwise agreed on an individual basis

Offers confidential support, friendship and practical help to families with at least one child under eight, going through a difficult time. We recruit, train and manage volunteers, to visit families in their own homes on a weekly basis. We help families to grow in confidence, enjoy their relationship with their children and encourage parents to widen their links within the local community.
There is no rule book for raising a family and sometimes it can seem overwhelming, particularly if there are other things happening in your life. Maybe you need someone to talk to who wont judge you; a shoulder to cry on or perhaps someone to play with the children or read to you and your children; maybe support to keep medical appointments or find out what else is available locally; support and guidance with children's challenging behaviour.
Our volunteers can help you develop your own coping skills
Referrals to the service via any health, education and social care professionals. Families can contact us directly.
Home-Start Nottingham cover the Ashfield, Broxtowe, Gedling, Rushcliffe boroughs of Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City.
How to volunteer
