High Grange is a Specialist School for young people aged 5 – 19 who have Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and associated learning, communication, sensory and behavioural difficulties. Pupils may have challenging behaviour as a result of features of their ASD such as a lack of social understanding, inflexible thinking or inability to regulate their emotions in certain environments or social situations.
High Grange School is located in a safe and tranquil, semi-rural setting on the outskirts of Derby with excellent links to the A50, A38 and M1. We are just 1.5 hours from London on the train.
The school offers day placements.
Curriculum
Pupils can work towards a range of formal qualifications, including GCSE and A Levels. Teachers collaborate with a wide range of professionals, the pupil and parents to establish which route is best. For some pupils, this is more of a formal education and for others more vocational. Flexibility within the timetable allows us to provide individualised timetables that are based upon pupil needs, interests and aspirations
