Overview
The Hermitage Pre School opened its doors in 1967, firstly as a playgroup and then later as a pre school, and has been providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children for over 40 years. We are committed to the philosophy of children learning through play in an environment where they feel secure and cared for as individuals.
We are registered and inspected by OfSTED, our last inspection was July 2024 in which we received a glowing report and Good rating.
As a village pre school we have strong links with the local community and the local schools, allowing the transition to 'big school' when the time comes, to be as easy and relaxed as possible, alongside the friends the children have already made at pre school.

Special needs (children)
Hermitage preschool aims to make provisions for children with a wide range of special needs. We aim to be inclusive as possible. As a setting we treat all children as individuals and know parents want the best for their children and want to be involved in their children's learning. We know all families and children are unique. Acknowledging and respecting this is crucial to building genuine relationships which are built on trust and openness. We have a Senco co-ordinator on the premises who works closely with parents and outside agencies when required.
