Overview

At Gunthorpe C of E Primary School we are committed to providing an inclusive environment for all. We want to ensure that all children, regardless of their special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), make the best possible progress in school and feel safe and valued. We aim to provide every child with a broad and balanced education. We embrace the fact that every child is unique and therefore, the educational needs of every child are different. There are a wide range of special educational needs for which children may need extra support, sometimes these needs are short term while others may continue through a child’s school life. In our school, pupils will be provided with high quality teaching adapted to suit the diverse needs of all learners.

The school day begins at 8:40 am and ends at 3:15 pm.
We offer a breakfast club from Monday to Friday, starting at 7:30 am until the start of the school day.
We offer an after school club from 3:15 pm until 5:30 pm, Monday to Thursday. There is no after school club on a Friday.

We have two parents evenings each year. One at the beginning of each academic year and one in the Spring term.
We also provide parents with an end of year school report.
In addition to the above, we also communicate with parents informally, on the playground, via the telephone or email. Additional parents meetings can be arranged if required or requested by parents.
Pupils recorded on the school's Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities Register, have a Personal Support Plan (PSP) which is reviewed 3 x annually with parents, the child, the class teacher and the school SENDCO.
Pupils with and EHCP will have an additional annual review.

Costs

We may ask for contributions towards extra curricular trips, clubs and activities. Support may be available for pupils in receipt of Pupil Premium Funding.
