Fragile X Society - Martin–Bell Syndrome

Overview

The Fragile X Society provides support and information to Fragile X families from those who share and understand their concerns and needs. They also raise awareness and understanding of the syndrome and so improve the care of all people affected by Fragile X Syndrome (FXS).

Fragile X Syndrome (also known as Martin–Bell Syndrome) is a genetic syndrome that is the most widespread single-gene cause of autism and inherited cause of intellectual disability, especially among boys.

It results in a spectrum of intellectual disabilities ranging from mild to severe, as well as physical characteristics, such as an elongated face.
