Equation – domestic abuse charity in Nottinghamshire
Equation’s goal is for everyone to have equal, healthy relationships.
We work to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence by providing support, raising awareness, and education.
- Support for men and LGBTQ+ - Equation provide the only accredited helpline and support to men and LGBTQ+ experiencing abuse living in Nottinghamshire.
- Education and training - We deliver educational programmes in schools to young people and teachers, train professionals to spot and respond to domestic abuse, and provide free safety and signposting information resources in Nottinghamshire. We also sell activity booklets for children and young people that support safety, wellbeing, healthy relationships and RSE education, and awareness-raising.
- Gateway domestic abuse recovery programme - an eight-week support group for male and LGBTQ+ survivors of domestic abuse. This programme is led by experienced domestic abuse advocates and is tailored to support lasting recovery. We provide separate groups for men and LGBTQ+ participants.
- Your Choice Project - a behavioural change programme, for anyone who wants help to stop using abusive behaviour towards a current or ex-partner or family member.
