Overview
Local parish council.
The parish council is a local authority that makes decisions on behalf of the people in the parish. It is the level of government closest to the community, with the district authority (Bassetlaw District Council) above it in the hierarchy.
As it is the authority closest to you, the parish council is invariably the first place people will go with concerns or ideas. For this reason they are a vital part of our community.
We have monthly meetings, usually on the third Tuesday of the month starting at 7pm in the village hall. The first part of the meeting is for members of the public to raise any points that they wish to make. Under normal practice, after this point the public are not allowed to speak.
If there is something that you would like the parish council to discuss you will need to speak to one of the councillors at least 10 days before the meeting so that the item can be considered for inclusion on the agenda
