East Midlands Gambling Harms Service

Overview

We provide specialist therapies, treatment and recovery to those affected by gambling addiction and gambling problems. Our service is free and confidential to people who are registered with a GP in the East Midlands.
We are a clinical team made up of psychologists, therapists, mental health practitioners and psychiatrists. Within our team we also have ‘experts by experience' - people who have recovered from a gambling addiction themselves.
We are based in Derby but offer support to people across the East Midlands. Most of our support is provided through virtual treatment programmes but face-to-face support may be an option where it is considered more appropriate.
We offer additional help with specific problems experienced by individuals, and support and advice to family members and carers. We work alongside many other agencies and services that can help with problems such as mental health, debt management and housing.
We are able to support people who:

Are 18 years old and over
Are registered with a GP in the East Midlands (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire or Rutland) - see below for more information on registering with a GP
Are experiencing current or recent problematic gambling, resulting in harm to themselves and/or to other people
Are able to travel to the service in person or who can commit time for assessment and treatment remotely by telephone or video call (on Microsoft Teams)
Consent to treatment and agree to engage with our team.
