Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) - Nottinghamshire County

Overview

A Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) can help people with disabilities make adaptations to their home to live more independently.

We also have information about Disabled Facilities Grant in easy read format, download Disabled Facilities Grant Easy Read [PDF]

If you or your family have difficulties caused by disability you may be able to apply for this grant, to help provide access to the facilities in your property, for example, by installing ramps and widening doorways.

The grant is means-tested for adults, meaning your household income and savings will be assessed to determine the amount of financial support you are eligible for. However, disabled children under 18 can get a grant without their family's income being taken into account.

The grant is paid by your district or borough council.
