Little Chicks Wraparound childcare: Improving Children’s lives today for a better tomorrow.

Little Chicks provides all children with a welcoming, stimulating and balanced start and end to the school day in Annesley Woodhouse.

Our aim is to improve the life chances of all children by helping them to be happy, healthy and safe both before and after school enabling our parents to confidently, participate fully in working life.

We strive to encourage self-belief, self-confidence, resilience and the raising of aspirations through play and the development of life skills for children.

Little Chicks recognises the importance of male role models in children’s development and has contracted a number of male staff to ensure we provide childcare that challenges stereotypes, reflects the gender mix both in their community and the wider world and enables children to build emotionally supportive relationships with male staff in a safe and caring environment.

Little Chicks’ wraparound and holiday childcare provision prioritises play, physical activities and support for children’s emotional wellbeing. In order to provide a stimulating environment, the range of activities we offer has been tailored to enable all children to build their own growth mindset, becoming more resilient and equipping them with life skills essential to their long-term success. We currently only offer craft, reading, music, sports and fitness activities, help with homework, indoor play and outdoor play activities. To ensure that we offer inclusive practice we will follow the Playwork Principles, so all children are free to choose their activities and resources as they wish from the range of activities on offer every day.
