Overview
Blind Veterans UK helps vision-impaired ex-Servicemen and women to rebuild their lives after sight loss.
We provide rehabilitation, training, practical advice and emotional support to veterans regardless of how or when they lost their sight. We're here to help blind veterans regain their independence and live the life they choose.
Introduction weeks
Our week-long introduction courses give veterans crucial guidance and support as our blind veterans adjust to their loss of sight and regain their personal independence.
Rehabilitation and training
We have two centres in England and Wales; on the South Coast and in North Wales. Each centre is a place for recreation, training and rehabilitation for blind veterans and their families. Rehabilitation and training for blind veterans and their families
National Creative Project
A new way for our blind veterans across the UK to get involved with activities from home. A series of activities delivered right to our veterans' doors. Right now we are offering art and craft, written and spoken word, gardening, listening and discussion.
Care
At Blind Veterans UK our aim is to enable ex-Service men and women to live independent lives wherever possible. But some blind veterans need a little more help.
Art & Craft
Our Art and Craft department gives veterans an outlet for their creativity. Whether it's a skill someone thinks they may have lost or something they've never tried before, we help our blind veterans develop their creativity.
Clubs and Societies
Our clubs and societies are more than just social: they give veterans a place to exchange ideas, knowledge and experience.
Sports & Recreation
At our centres we help veterans take part in sports that they may not even have thought possible, from running and cycling to rock climbing and surfing. For many, being active and enjoying sports helps build confidence and self-esteem.
We organise activities and events for running, swimming, cycling, walking, rock climbing, surfing, gym training, acoustic rifle shooting, tandem bike ride and anything else our members want to try.
