Autism East Midlands - South Lodge and Ledale

South Lodge and Iedale underwent a major transformation in 2020 to provide a unique, autism-friendly environment that offers individuals the opportunity to achieve more independence.

Based in Retford, South lodge and Iedale are both modern, bespoke residential services, situated a few hundred metres from each other. Each resident has an apartment or pod featuring a living area, bathroom, kitchen and bedroom. Each house also has a communal lounge and Kitchen, so the residents benefit from the best of both worlds, accommodation designed to promote independence, but with the safety net of a residential setting.

Both South Lodge and Iedale are set in extensive grounds which our residents can access safely as the grounds are secure. South Lodge and Iedale are in a peaceful semi-rural location, but with easy access to all that Retford town centre has to offer.

These two large properties were transformed to provide modern, relaxing and autism-friendly facilities for our residents. During the transformation work, service users were able to choose their own paint colours and selected furniture for their individual spaces to make their place their own.

Meanwhile, the beautiful and picturesque surroundings provide tranquility and a sense of calmness, and a space for our residents to explore and experience the outdoors in a safe environment.
