CORONAVIRUS UPDATE BULLETIN – For Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Care Providers - Monday 10th August 2020

Dear Providers, the information below contains current and up to date information from our strategic partners for you and your staff:

New and updated guidance and support, including information on funding:

Capacity Tracker

Understanding the capacity tracker, please find attached questions and answers to support the completion of the capacity tracker. Please make every effort to complete the tracker as it is important that our local information is included in national discussions. The team will make every effort to support you with this so please do contact either Corrina Bailey, email:, Paula Byrne, email: or the Quality and Market Management Team, email:, with any questions or requests for guidance that you may have.

Book your antibody test

Antibody testing is now available to all employees working in Adults and Children’s Social Care settings across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, including Bassetlaw.

Please note that this includes nursing care, residential care, home care, informal care workers, learning disability homes, extra care, supported living and semi-independent living

An antibody test will tell you if you have been infected with coronavirus in the past. It also plays an important part in helping us understand who has had the disease. By volunteering to be part of this testing programme you can help with the national effort to reduce the impact of coronavirus and help get things back to normal.   Please find attached an information sheet which will tell you more, including how to book at test, the telephone number to ring and how the test works.

PLEASE NOTE:  The response from the initial invitation to contact the testing centre today has been overwhelming.  This has caused the call centre difficulties in handling the volume of calls.  We would ask everyone to continue to try to access the testing centre through the number provided, but bear in mind that this invitation to access antibody testing will continue to be available over the next 10 weeks.”

Share the great ways you have supported your team to maintain the importance of Infection, Prevention & Control

We recognise that most of you will already undertaken lots of IPC training and know you will be having regular conversations  with your staff, we have already heard of some the innovative approaches that staff and managers  have introduced to keep IPC at the front of peoples thinking so we want to capture those grass roots ideas on how to keep IPC issues “live” so we can build a good ideas or top tips resources  for services across the region.

To encourage people to join in we have decided to offer a small incentive we will pick the top 3 most innovative, creative and fun ideas and reward the service with a small cash prize of £150.

To support this there are resources attached, these consist of; a letter outlining the IPC competition and a presentation explaining how to use the supporting ideas template and turning ideas into action template.
