Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County Council UPDATE BULLETIN – For all health and social care providers – Thursday 29th July 2021

Dear Providers, the information below contains current and up to date information from our strategic partners for you and your staff:

New and updated guidance and support, including information on funding:

Vaccination as a condition of deployment - beginning of the grace period

The vaccination as a condition of deployment regulations have been signed and the 16-week grace period began on Thursday 22 July. This means that the regulations will come into force on Thursday 11 November. For those beginning their vaccination journey, they must have their first dose by Thursday 16 September to allow the eight-week gap between doses and ensure they are fully vaccinated by Thursday 11 November.

DHSC will produce a full impact assessment. As an interim measure, it has published a Statement of Impact. This offers an upper, lower and central estimate of the proportion of the workforce who may be unvaccinated by the end of the grace period: upper 12%; lower 3%; central 7% - which equates to roughly 40,000 workers in CQC-registered care homes. The cost implication for providers of the central estimate would be £100M.

FAO Homecare Providers – Care about Medicine (CAM) Newsletter

Please find attached the second issue of your Care About Medicine newsletter. The aim of the newsletter is to promote good working practice across Nottingham & Nottinghamshire's Home Care Providers and their staff.

FAO Care Home Managers - Expert consensus on falls management in care homes

We would like to invite you to take part in an online expert consensus on falls management programmes in care homes. We are interested to get the views of care home managers, care home staff and healthcare professionals who work with care homes to gain a consensus on the key aspects of falls management in care homes. The research will all take place online in a group discussion and agreement process.

More information is available in the attached participant information sheet (PIS Version 3.0.doc). If you are interested in taking part please contact Dr Katie Robinson who is coordinating the study-
