The table below shows cases in the Bassetlaw and Newark areas where  NCC Childrens Short Breaks Team  have been unable to commission a short breaks provider service due to no provision being available over the past three months (March to end of May 2019).

To meet the above, Nottinghamshire County Council are seeking new providers for their short breaks service for disabled children and young people aged 5-18. This a countywide service and includes individual support such as sitting/befriending and group support such as holiday playschemes. The following are service gaps that we currently need to fill:


  • Provision in Bassetlaw, Newark and rural areas of Rushcliffe;
  • Providers who can support with complex health/medical needs and personal care needs;
  • Group provision for young people 12 +;
  • Providers with experience of challenging behaviours.
