What is a Personal Assistant?

A Personal Assistant (PA) is someone who is employed to provide everyday care and support.  This may include personal and domestic care, support to get out and about, as well as other day to day activities.  A PA can offer the most control over services as they are better able to support an individual's specific needs and promote independence.  All PA's listed on NottsHelpYourself have completed the Nottinghamshire County Council's Support with Confidence Programme.

A full list of registered PAs can be found here.

If you currently employ a Personal Assisatnt or are looking to employ a Personal Assistant you may benefit from accessing the Skills for Care Individual Emlployers toolkit which has step by step guide on the process and useful information to assist you as an Employer.
