Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County Council UPDATE BULLETIN – For all health and social care providers – Friday 23rd July 2021

Dear Providers, the information below contains current and up to date information from our strategic partners for you and your staff:

New and updated guidance and support, including information on funding:

Current Covid-19 Guidance for all providers

In the current context of rising transmission rates  and our duty of care to the people we work with, many of who are clinically vulnerable or extremely vulnerable, we are asking you to continue to follow the existing guidance and risk assessments in place for now. We are looking at the guidance to see how it needs to change and we intend to review and revise it every month, based on the situation at the time.

In people’s homes , we recommend that you continue to wear face masks (subject to discussion with people on their personal preferences and communication needs), maintain social distancing where possible, suggest opening doors and windows for good ventilation, and maintain regular hand-washing and testing.

For staff delivering care in care home and day service settings  and in people’s homes,  use of PPE, including face masks, and infection prevention and control (IPC) measures should continue. This applies even if staff or service users have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. It is also important to continue:

  • getting testing if you have any potential COVID-19 symptoms
  • continuing any current Lateral Flow testing arrangements you have in place
  • isolating when positive or when contacted by NHS Test and Trace.

You may also have seen national announcements about frontline NHS and social care staff who are contacts of a positive case, being able  to attend work rather than self-isolate , with testing mitigations, in exceptional circumstances. We advise that you must continue to follow the usual self-isolation requirements for staff who are contacts of a positive case. Further local guidelines and templates will be provided for frontline settings early next week, to support release from self-isolation for contacts, in exceptional circumstances only.
