The college offers a range of vocational courses across a wide range of academic levels from pre-entry to Higher education. It is a fully inclusive college welcoming applicants with learning difficulties and disabilities. All learners will be required to have an assessment to ensure our provision is appropriate to meet individual needs.
Vision West Nottinghamshire College has a large LLDD department called Foundation Studies as well as an award winning Learning Support Team.
Foundation Studies
Foundation Studies offers a range of courses aimed at developing independence skills and/or employability skills at a range of levels to suit individual needs. There are opportunities for students to meet new people and take part in activities, all in a supportive and friendly environment. The Foundation Studies Team has a wealth of experience which enables every young person to achieve their full potential.
In order to help young people succeed in life Foundation Studies offers:
- Excellent learner support services for a wide range of learner needs.
- Extensive range of differentiated courses from Pre-Entry Level to level 1 including independent living skills, employment skills and a wide range of animal care courses.
- Opportunities to participate in taster days prior to joining the college.
- Progression routes and opportunities to gain new experiences.

Learning Support
Vision West Nottinghamshire College values all learners equally, acknowledging differences and fully supporting inclusive learning. The college has a comprehensive Learning Support Team who work closely with students, schools, outside agencies and tutors to provide an individual support package. Support is regularly reviewed and the aim, where possible, is to guide the learner towards independence.
The team have a growing reputation and has won the Association of Colleges Beacon Award for Inclusive Learning. They have significant and comprehensive experience and/or training in the following additional need areas: Attention Deficit Hyper Activity Disorder, Autistic spectrum, Challenging behaviour, Hearing impairment, Language/communication needs, Learning Difficulties, Physical impairment, Visual impairment, Multi Sensory Impairment, Mental Health Needs, Complex Health Needs, Learning Disabilities and/or difficulties.
