Enable, Ellen House

Enable provides care and support together with day activities for adults with learning difficulties. We are a domiciliary care provider and also provide registered and nursing care in a range of settings. For over 20 years, Enable Group has been providing high quality care for people with learning difficulties in Derbyshire and the surrounding area. Enable provides housing, care, support, day care services and training in areas as diverse as safeguarding, manual handling and understanding the Mental Capacity Act. Enable Group strives to improve the quality of life for people with learning difficulties. We help people to live in the community as independently as they would like to, with access to a great range of activities and training. At Enable, we actively promote the independence, choice and rights of every individual we support and we work to ensure that everyone has a say in issues that affect them. Enable Group keeps up with new developments and research in health and social care and understand the importance of valuing people. In April 2013 Enable joined the East Midlands Housing Group as its care and support arm. This is an important and exciting breakthrough and will allow Enable to expand both geographically in the rest of the East Midlands region but more importantly to help other client groups who need care and support, particularly older people and other vulnerable adults.
