Nottinghamshire County Council provides a wide range of support to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families. This is achieved by working in partnership with parents, carers, children, schools and other agencies such as health, social care and the voluntary sector.
Integrated Children's Disability Service
Who to contact
As part of Nottinghamshire's response to the reforms to services and provision for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) set out in the Children and Families Act 2014, the Children's Integrated Disability Service has been established. This brings together a number of services that were previously part of the Children's Disability Service and SEND Policy and Provision.
The service comprises of what was formerly:
- Short Breaks and Personalisation Service
- Occupational Therapy Service
- Disabled Children's Support Service (Early Support)
- SEND Assessment Team
- SEND Commissioning Team
Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans - New and Transfer Requests
Coordinates the statutory assessment process for children and young people aged 0 - 25 years and, where appropriate, their placement in specialist provision.
